A serious accident occurred last Tuesday on a local road near the village of Triadou, in the Hérault department. In a head-on collision between two vehicles, one of them – a Citroën C5 – belonged to a private ambulance company.
The employee did not survive and was pronounced dead at the scene, whilst his passenger was hospitalised in a serious condition. The passenger had to be cut free from the vehicle before being rushed to Montpellier’s Lapeyronie University Hospital, where he was placed in an induced coma, according to our colleagues at 20 Minutes.
An investigation has been launched
The driver of the other vehicle was taken to hospital in a condition described as critical. According to the same source, he was declared brain dead on Tuesday evening. The gendarmerie has launched an investigation to determine the exact circumstances of the accident.
