Firefighters at the Castelnaudary fire station are in shock. On Thursday, one of their colleagues was attacked by a man suffering from mental health issues, whom he had just picked up a few minutes earlier to take him to Purpan Hospital in Toulouse, according to our colleagues at the Voix du Midi Lauragais.
According to the same source, the SDIS 11 officer was struck in the face by the man, who is in his thirties. Suffering from an open wound to his eyebrow and cheekbone, the firefighter from Chaure has been granted temporary sick leave for several days following this violent attack.
A complaint has been lodged at Toulouse Central Police Station.
