Doubs: Fire engine hit by another vehicle, two injured

A car and a fire service emergency and victim assistance vehicle (VSAV), carrying a casualty, collided on Friday shortly after 3 pm in Valdahon, a town east of Besançon (Doubs). A firefighter and a female passenger in the other vehicle involved sustained minor injuries.

A side-impact collision for the VSAV, and a more head-on collision for the car. In addition to the person who was already being transported by the emergency services to the hospital at the time of the collision, two other people were injured, with their injuries deemed “ minor ”&: a female passenger in the car involved and the fire brigade’s equipment officer, who is based at the Orchamps-Vennes station (SDIS 25). The photo, published on the Facebook page "Haut-Doubs 25 Road Information", bears witness to the severity of the impact.

The police were called to the scene and carried out an initial investigation. According to them, the cause of the accident, which was caused by a lane change, has yet to be determined. The three other people involved in the collision were unharmed.
