A private ambulance transporting a patient was struck by a car on Tuesday evening in Sète. According to our information, the collision left two people injured, one seriously: the patient, who was lying on a stretcher at the time of the crash and was already being taken to the hospital’s A&E department. They were treated by the fire brigade and a doctor from SDIS 34.

For the time being, this collision, which took place at the junction of Quai du Bosc and Rue Montmorency, remains unexplained, although according to witnesses, the ambulance driver is said to have run a red light. Had he activated his sirens? Was he on a call that allowed him to disregard the Highway Code?
All these details are yet to be confirmed by officers from the Sète police station, who were at the scene of the accident to carry out the investigation and make the usual observations.
