It was with great sadness that the canine unit of the Brignoles Civil Protection Training and Response Unit (UIISC 7) announced the death of its dog, Ulysse.
Ulysse, a 15-year-old dog, passed away on Monday evening. He joined the unit on 22 September 2006 and served for seven years under the command of his handler, David Fabries, before enjoying a well-deserved retirement by his side.
He had taken part in numerous searches for missing persons on the mainland and in Corsica; in particular, he was deployed to Haiti following the 2010 earthquake, helping to locate several people during his career.
