The Ministry of the Interior will be attending Eurosatory, the international defence and security exhibition, which will take place from Monday 11 June to Friday 15 June 2018 at the Paris Nord Villepinte Exhibition Centre.
The exhibition will be open to the public from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm, from Monday 11 June to Thursday 14 June, and from 9.00 am to 4.00 pm on Friday 15 June.
The involvement of the Ministry of the Interior, with the presence of the national police and gendarmerie, the Paris Police Prefecture and the Paris Fire Brigade, demonstrates its determination to address current security and defence challenges.
For the 2018 edition, the Ministry of the Interior is presenting a 484m² stand in Hall 6B, Stand D10, divided into four sections: Counter-terrorism, Public Order, Identification and the Paris Fire Brigade, featuring new developments such as:
The Mobile Document Analysis Laboratory (LMAD)

Since 2016, the Division for Expertise in Document and Identity Fraud (DEFDI) and the six regional PAF directorates in mainland France have been equipped with people carrier-type vehicles fitted with document detection and analysis equipment, known as mobile document analysis laboratories (LMAD). These were financed using European funds.
The DEFDI can now provide law enforcement agencies with mobile technical support, ranging from detection to in-depth documentary analysis, thanks to 14 first- and second-generation LMADs (mobile operational analysis laboratories) distributed amongst the DZPAFs (two per DZ) and the DEFDI (two).
The LMAD is the means by which the PAF projects its operational capability in the field of combating document and identity fraud. It enables technical examinations to be carried out to verify the authenticity of documents using specialised on-board equipment (spectral video comparator, document reader, USB microscope, video mouse, scanner) and to produce either a simplified or detailed analysis. It operates autonomously thanks to its latest-generation battery.
Possible roles: supporting cross-border control operations carried out by the PAF; supporting operations conducted by other law enforcement agencies (identity checks at the request of the public prosecutor, support for checks at construction sites or premises as part of CODAF operations, etc.), operational support missions for the CERTs, training and communication activities.

The mobile, deployable genetic analysis laboratory (LabADN)
The mobile, deployable genetic analysis laboratory (LabADN) developed by the National Gendarmerie’s Institute for Criminal Research (IRCGN).
This mobile laboratory enables the rapid, high-throughput analysis of a large number of samples, with 24 markers tested simultaneously. It is specifically designed for processing complex crime scenes involving bloodstains and for identifying victims of mass disasters. It can carry out DNA analysis on multiple individuals whilst they are in police custody and enable their genetic profiles to be recorded in national and international databases.
It takes just 2 hours to obtain the first 21 analysis results, including calibration and verification procedures. A further 21 new profiles are then obtained every 30 minutes.
The anti-drone jammer
An electromagnetic jamming device designed to neutralise unmanned aerial vehicles.
Developed through collaboration between the ST(SI)² (Internal Security Information and Systems Technology Department) and the security and defence industries, the anti-drone jammer is operated by military personnel from the SIC chain, who have been specifically trained in its use.
It has benefited from a series of technical improvements, resulting from lessons learnt and collaboration between field units and the ST(SI)². Deployed throughout the country during numerous missions and events, this tool has proven its full operational effectiveness.
A lightweight device that can be deployed quickly at any time, its use is becoming widespread within the National Gendarmerie.
The drone tracking system
The console
Weapons console, more commonly known as C2 (Control and Command). Its role is to prepare the mission, interface with the various effectors (radar, camera, countermeasures, jammers, etc.) and process the target(s) in real time across one or more areas to be secured. Based on a high-performance electronic, software and thermal architecture, this console is ‘all-weather’..
The day/night tracking camera
A very high-performance day/night (thermal) camera which, via the weapons console and in conjunction with other effectors, enables the identification of one or more targets and the verification of any payloads carried by drones. It is equipped with a laser rangefinder and a target-tracking system.
The panoramic detection system
An optoelectronic system providing a 360° panoramic view. An ultra-sensitive cooled sensor capable of simultaneously identifying low-altitude targets.
When used in conjunction with the CYCLOPE software for automatic intrusion detection and tracking, this system complements low-altitude detection.
2D radar
2D radar (currently undergoing 3D qualification). Radar specifically designed for UAVs (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles) with low or very low RCS (Radar Cross-Section). Automatic classification and discrimination of targets (drones, aircraft, pedestrians, birds, vehicles). Typically used for mobile operations in dense to very dense urban areas.
The MedPack

There is a significant difference between the conditions under which a patient is treated in hospital and those in the pre-hospital setting. Unlike hospital practices, where everything is designed to ensure care is provided under optimal conditions, in the pre-hospital setting, the medical team must adapt to the conditions dictated by the environment in which the procedure takes place.
Outside the emergency vehicle, there are few alternatives for working properly (in accordance with health, safety and ergonomic standards), so equipment is usually left on the floor, which does not make it easy to provide care to the highest standard.
Aims of the MedPack: To improve working conditions for healthcare workers outside hospital settings by enabling them to comply with basic standards of ergonomics, safety, efficiency, quality and hygiene.
It comprises a work surface for nurses and doctors, a selective waste disposal system, powerful LED lighting and an IV pole.
Weighing less than 7 kg, it measures 30 cm by 80 cm and unfolds in under 5 seconds to 150 cm by 80 cm.
