Hostage crisis in Paris: the raid has taken place, the perpetrator has been arrested

A hostage situation unfolded over several hours on Rue des Petites Écuries, in Paris’s 10th arrondissement.

7.50 pm - According to the Paris Police Headquarters, the BRI carried out the raid and the suspect was arrested. Gérard Collomb, the Minister of the Interior, stated that the hostages are out of danger.

7.25 pm - The security cordon around the scene of the incident has just been extended by around 20 metres, according to our colleagues at Actu17.

7.00 pm - The hostage situation is still ongoing and the situation, which is being managed by the BRI in Paris, remains at a standstill.

5.50 pm - According to initial reports, there is no terrorist link (BFMTV).

5.40 pm - The gunman claims that one of the three hostages he is holding is seriously injured. This information has not been confirmed.

5.18 pm - According to our colleagues at Actu17, the hostage situation is taking place at the offices of Mixicom (an advertising agency), located at 46 Rue des Petites Écuries.

4.55 pm - A man who claims to be in possession of two bombs is holding three people hostage at the scene. The perpetrator’s motives are as yet unknown, but he is demanding to speak to the Iranian ambassador and the French government, according to Le Point.

The police have set up a large security cordon. The BRI is on the scene.
