According to our information, confirmed by the Finistère Prefecture, five firefighters from SDIS 29 suffered burns on Tuesday shortly after 3 pm in an explosion that occurred during a fire at a 1,000 m² chicken coop in Plouyé, near Carhaix.
The first two, a young man and a young woman who were seriously injured, were airlifted by two Civil Protection helicopters – Dragon 29 and 56 – to the burns unit at Nantes Hospital. Their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
The other three, who had suffered burns to their hands, were treated at the scene by SAMU doctors and nurses.
