"Congratulations to Master Corporals David and Joffrey and Corporal Nicolas on passing the entrance examination for the Joint Services Military Academy (EMIA)" This is the message that the Paris Fire Brigade’s communications department has just published, before explaining that they will undertake a two-year training programme, followed by a year of specialisation at the training college of their choice. On completion, they will have the opportunity to return to the Brigade and one day command their own company.
