Thursday will be a big day for Colonel Grégory Allione, as he has been in post since October 2014 as director of the Bouches-du-Rhône Fire and Rescue Service, is to be awarded the insignia of Knight of the Order of the Legion of Honour. The ceremony will take place at 5.30 pm in Velaux, west of Aix-en-Provence, and will be followed by a speech by Gérard Collomb, Minister of State and Minister for the Interior.
Originally from the Var, where he served as head of the emergency services and rescue centres in Draguignan, Fréjus and Brignols, he also spent two and a half years working at the Directorate-General for Civil Protection and Crisis Management in Paris, before joining the office of the Minister for the Interior from May 2012 to October 2014 as an adviser on civil protection. He has now been the departmental director of the Bouches-du-Rhône Fire and Rescue Service for nearly four years. 5,800 officers are under his command.
Set to become president of the FNSPF?
He is very involved in the voluntary sector and sits on the board of the National Federation of Fire Brigades of France (FNSPF), as Vice-President responsible for strengthening the role of the fire service in civil protection and crisis management.
On 15 June, at the FNSPF conference, Colonel Grégory Allione announced his candidacy for the presidency. It is not until next September, at the 2018 national congress, that we will know the composition of the federation’s new board of directors and presidency. Follow us on secoursinfo.fr.
