This morning, the executive committee of the Haute-Garonne Fire and Rescue Service (SDIS 31) voted in favour of introducing a standard partnership agreement designed to improve the availability of volunteer firefighters.
On its Facebook page, SDIS 31 states that "This scheme provides last-minute childcare for school-age children of SPV staff who are called out on an emergency call-out during out-of-school hours (meals and/or after-school care)".
Before adding that "The organisation of emergency services relies, in particular, on the need for volunteer firefighters to be able to balance their working lives and family commitments with their commitment to serving their fellow citizens. Consequently, with this measure, SDIS 31 is continuing its policy aimed at developing and ensuring the long-term sustainability of the volunteer fire service in the Haute-Garonne region.".
