Firefighters in the Lot are now equipped with operational tablets which they use at the scene of an incident. This mapping tool, which works both online and offline, provides real-time access to a wide range of data relating to the area of the incident.
Mapping data, the locations of the establishments listed (ETARE), as well as their emergency plans, and the locations and characteristics of all fire hydrants (hydrant posts, hydrants, and natural or artificial water sources).

A total of 46 tablets have been deployed across the department’s Fire and Rescue Centres. They are used by Rescue Operations Commanders (COS) from the rank of Group Leader upwards, by the heads of specialist teams and, more generally, by officers within the chain of command.
This tool, which is essential to the smooth running of rescue operations, is designed to evolve and be enhanced in line with needs on the ground.
It was developed by CGX SYSTEM, a company based in Castres, in partnership with the Lot departmental fire and rescue service.
