Drôme: More than 250 firefighters are battling a warehouse fire

256 firefighters from Drôme, Isère, Loire, Ardèche and Rhône are currently on the scene battling a fire at the “Allo Pneus” warehouse in Valence (26). The fire is causing a large cloud of black smoke; the prefecture is advising the public to avoid exposure to the smoke. Law enforcement agencies have set up checkpoints to keep the area clear for emergency services at the scene of the incident. The prefecture has activated its departmental operations centre. The evacuation of the premises took place without incident. The departmental security unit of the national police is leading the investigation.
