Who was Private First Class Geoffroy Henry, who was killed whilst on duty in Villeneuve-Saint-Georges?

On Tuesday evening, during a rescue operation in the town of Villeneuve Saint-Georges (94), Private First Class Geoffroy Henry and one of his colleagues were attacked by the person they had come to assist. Evacuated by helicopter to Percy Military Hospital, the firefighter, who served with the Paris Fire Brigade, succumbed to his injuries. Firefighter 1st Class Geoffroy Henry was married and a father. Born on 9 August 1991 in Lille, he served France for over four years. He joined the Paris Fire Brigade (BSPP) on 4 February 2014 and was also a volunteer firefighter in Saint-Marcel-lès-Valence, in the Drôme department. He served at the Drancy fire station before being posted in January 2017 to the Rungis fire station (38th CBRN Company). He was the recipient of the Bronze Medal for National Defence. In a press release, the Paris Fire Brigade expressed their deep sadness at this tragedy. They share in the grief of the family and extend their most sincere condolences to the loved ones of their comrade-in-arms at the Rungis fire station, the 38th Fire and Rescue Company and the Support and Rescue Group.
