A Public Security officer who had recently been transferred from the Boissy-Saint-Léger police station to the one in L’Haÿ-les-Roses, in Val-de-Marne, took his own life using his service weapon. He took his own life in his car using his service weapon during the night between Sunday and Monday near his home in Maisons-Alfort, according to a trade union source. Aged 44, he was a commander and head of public security, and had just been transferred to the L’Haÿ-les-Roses police station after spending several years at the Boissy-Saint-Léger police station. It was his wife, also a police officer, who made the grim discovery. In 2017, 49 police officers and 16 gendarmes took their own lives.
