A fire has been reported in the commune of Fontiès-d'Aude (11) in the Aude department.

7.15 pm – Significant resources have been deployed to the scene due to strong south-easterly winds. The flames were spreading towards Montirat and Lake Cavayère. In the air, firefighters from the Aude department were supported by seven Canadair aircraft, two Trackers and a Dash 8 from the Civil Protection service based at Nîmes-Garons At 8.00 pm, the departmental fire and rescue service reported that between 50 and 80 hectares of vegetation had been destroyed by the flames. The fire is believed to have spread over 2 km. Seven forest fire response teams are at the scene At 9.00 pm:
08:00: Two GIFF teams on site monitoring the situation; the area burnt is between 60 and 80 hectares. Winds remain moderate in the area.
