The Marseille Marine Fire Brigade was called out shortly after 6.00 am this morning to tackle a bush fire in the Nerthe hills (16th arrondissement). Despite the steep terrain making access difficult, the 63 firefighters and 27 vehicles deployed managed to limit the area burnt to 2 hectares. Fire suppression operations are currently underway.
