Alexandra Damien, a 33-year-old Parisian who admitted to posing as a victim of the 13 November 2015 jihadist attacks, was sentenced on Tuesday 16 October in Paris to two years’ imprisonment, including six months to be served without parole, for fraud and giving false evidence, as revealed by our colleagues at France Info.

The Criminal Court imposed an 18-month suspended sentence, subject to a probation order which included, in particular, a requirement to undergo treatment. The young woman was on trial, amongst other things, for defrauding the Guarantee Fund for Victims of Terrorism and Other Criminal Offences (FGTI) of 20,000 euros.
