LATEST NEWS. Météo France has just placed the Haute-Corse department on orange alert "rain, flooding and thunderstorms", until at least 3 pm on Wednesday.
"During the thunderstorms, rainfall totals of around 40 mm per hour were recorded in the Castagniccia region and along the east coast. Throughout the day, thunderstorms may continue to bring heavy hourly rainfall of between 40 and 60 mm, resulting in a possible total of 100 to 130 mm over the course of the day." explains Météo France.
He added: "Hail and intense lightning may occur locally alongside thunderstorms. Following yesterday’s thunderstorms, the ground is damp, which is likely to cause river levels to rise rapidly.".
