Paris: three police officers violently attacked by rioters

On Saturday 22 December, 2,000 ‘yellow vests’ gathered on the Champs-Élysées for the sixth stage of their protests. Whilst the CRS were clearing the avenue, three motorcycle police officers from Security Company 75 were violently attacked by rioters; one police officer was even forced to abandon his motorbike. Another was forced to draw his service weapon to deter one of the rioters from attacking him. The CSI officer was then able to retrieve his motorbike thanks to reinforcements from colleagues in riot gear, who arrived quickly.
