Perpignan South: one dead at the ‘Yellow Vests’ roadblock
A driver died on Friday at around 11.30 pm after crashing violently into a lorry that was stationary at the Yellow Vests roadblock, which had been in place since 17 November at the roundabout by the Perpignan Sud motorway A9 toll booth.
Autopsy ordered
When firefighters from SDIS 66 and doctors arrived, the driver, who was in cardiac arrest, could not be resuscitated. He died at the scene. The coroner, who was called to the scene, carried out a post-mortem examination.
The Public Prosecutor for Perpignan, who visited the scene, ordered a post-mortem examination to determine the cause of death.
It has emerged that the deceased driver was 35 years old, lived in the department and was a ‘Yellow Vest’ protester.
