The victim is conscious and is experiencing chest pain

In the life-threatening emergency assessment, the victim shows signs of respiratory distress:

  • follow the appropriate procedure for respiratory distress (sitting or semi-sitting position, oxygen if necessary);
  • seek medical advice and follow the instructions.

In the life-threatening emergency assessment, the victim shows signs of circulatory distress:

  • follow the appropriate protocol for circulatory distress (lie flat, administer oxygen if necessary, protect against the cold);
  • seek medical advice and follow the instructions.

There are no obvious signs of distress; follow the standard procedure for dealing with a victim who appears unwell:

  • ensure the victim rests immediately;
  • position the victim in the position in which they feel most comfortable;
  • administer oxygen if necessary;
  • seek medical advice after carrying out the further tests;
  • to administer, at the request of the victim or the attending doctor, the treatment which the victim is currently using and which has been prescribed for them;
  • follow the instructions.

In any case, if the victim suddenly loses consciousness, follow the appropriate procedure and, as a matter of priority, carry out the necessary first-aid measures.
