How to deal with a limb amputation

stop the bleeding immediately;

apply a pressure dressing, using a dressing soaked in a haemostatic agent if necessary, to the stump even if there is no bleeding;

complete the critical emergency assessment, if necessary;

to combat circulatory problems;

carry out a further assessment to look for any other signs or injuries and provide the necessary first aid;

seek medical advice by forwarding the test results;

to dress the severed limb;

keep an eye on the victim.
