Loire: they had stolen and set fire to two fire engines
On the evening of 29 December, two vehicles belonging to the SDIS 42 fire service were stolen from within the Montbrison fire station compound, near Saint-Étienne.
After driving recklessly through the town’s streets, with sirens blaring and flashing lights on, the thieves partially set fire to the emergency vehicles before abandoning them.
Four arrests
Thorough investigations by police officers from the Loire division led to the arrest and detention of four suspects on 31 December.
Two of the main suspects were remanded in custody pending their trial in early February. The other two suspects were given a warning and a summary penalty order.
