The Paris Fire Brigade (BSPP) is mourning two of its officers, who were killed on Saturday morning following a major explosion in the capital’s 9th arrondissement. Once again, emotion and sadness have gripped the ranks of this military unit, which is renowned throughout the world.
Messages of support are pouring in on social media. The Minister for the Interior, Christophe Castaner, immediately visited the scene accompanied by the Prime Minister. He subsequently made a point of meeting the soldiers at the Château-d’Eau barracks, who belong to the 8th Company of the BSPP.
