Rankings: Fire services on Twitter, January 2019

RANKINGS. Fire services have been monitoring social media for several years now. For fire and rescue services (SIS), Twitter – which has several million users in France – is a valuable communication tool.

Practices vary from one department to another. Keeping the public informed about risks, ongoing operations and the day-to-day running of the service, as well as relaying prevention messages… There are many ‘good reasons’ to communicate.

Three rankings

As far as SIS organisations are concerned, in mainland France, Twitter is used far less than Facebook. The editorial team at Secours Info has compiled rankings to track the SIS organisations’ presence on Twitter. We will update these rankings every month and include any changes, so that we can monitor how each organisation is performing.
