The film Save or perish *Avec Pierre Niney* is set to be screened at the end of January in a Paris theatre as a tribute to the two firefighters who died in the explosion on Rue de Trévise, according to our colleagues at BFMTV

"Save or perish" – the motto of the Paris Fire Brigade takes on profound significance following the deaths of two of its members in Saturday’s explosion on Rue de Trévise.

Pierre Niney embodied this motto in Frédéric Tellier’s film, playing a firefighter who was burned whilst on duty. Deeply moved by the role, the actor announced on his Twitter account that the film would be screened in tribute to the two firefighters who lost their lives.

A session to raise funds for families

This special performance will take place on 27 January at the Théâtre Libre in the 10th arrondissement. “All proceeds will be donated to the families of the two firefighters who lost their lives last Saturday in Paris,” says Pierre Niney.

Sergeant Cartannaz and Corporal Josselin died from their injuries following the explosion on Rue de Trévise, which claimed two further lives. Their intervention made it possible to save around twenty lives according to the fire brigade commander, who praised their efforts.
