At the Lyon District Court, the Isère Fire and Rescue Service (SDIS) was ordered to pay 57,000 euros in damages to private individuals in the Loire department.
In January 2009, the fire brigade received a call about a house fire in Malleval. They went to Malleval-en-Vercors, except that the call had actually come from the Pilat massif, also in the municipality of Malleval.
Ultimately, the fire brigade’s intervention caused a 20-minute delay and further damage, according to the insurance company.
Almost ten years later, the SDIS has been ordered to pay nearly 45,000 euros to the insurance company and nearly 12,000 euros to the victim, based on Progress.
