According to our colleagues at BFMTV, the Paris Criminal Investigation Department is investigating the disappearance of Andotiana, aged 23, a Master’s student in sociology at the University of Nanterre. The young woman, who arrived in France in 2016 to study and lives in Rueil-Malmaison, has not been heard from since the beginning of January.
Her last contact with her family and friends was on the evening of 8 January, when the young woman spoke to her boyfriend, who lives in Madagascar, via video call. Andotiana also failed to turn up for her student job in Boulogne, where she works as a waitress in a crêperie. It was her cousin who reported her worrying disappearance to the police station in Rueil-Malmaison.
Fancy a trip to Evry?
Investigators are following up a lead based on the testimony of a couple who reportedly saw the young woman in a shopping centre in Evry on 17 January. Her family and friends, along with the University of Nanterre, have shared an appeal for witnesses on social media in an attempt to locate the young woman, who is described as hard-working and not one for going out. Anyone with information is asked to call 17.
