Monroe County Fire Brigade -New York State, in the United States- were called out to a house fire last Friday. Upon receiving the alert, a firefighter on duty realised that it was his own house, remembering that his 12-year-old son was inside.
Despite the rapid response of the fire brigade, the house was completely destroyed by the fire. Fortunately, the child managed to escape in time. He was taken to hospital and treated for smoke inhalation.
Deane Comer’s entire family has been temporarily rehoused by the Red Cross and their insurance company. A collection has been organised to enable the family to buy clothes and essential items.
