The fire service in the Nord (59) has praised effective inter-agency cooperation by releasing an audio recording of a call from a person in distress.
When he contacted the SDIS 59 emergency call centre, a man who said he was feeling short of breath lost consciousness before he could give the operator any further details.
The rapid mobilisation of resources and partners enabled the emergency services to arrive on the scene in 8 minutes and 2 seconds. Listening to the recording, one can hear the arrival of the fire brigade’s ambulance, as well as the instructions given to administer cardiopulmonary resuscitation without delay. The victim was saved after 50 minutes of resuscitation.
