A teenage girl who had been reported missing in Marseille since 7 January was found on Wednesday morning in the loft of a house in the town of Eecke, in the Nord department. She had not been in touch with her mother since that date.
According to our information, the investigation is said to concern a 30-year-old man. "The information gathered by the young girl’s mother quickly led the police to a man living in northern France. The Marseille police station, which was initially tasked with handling this case of a missing minor, and subsequently the Dunkirk police station, carried out the initial investigations. On Friday 25 January, the public prosecutor in Dunkirk decided to refer the case to the Hazebrouck Criminal Investigation Unit to continue the investigation, on the grounds of an offence of abduction of a minor involving a suspect residing within its jurisdiction.", the gendarmerie told our colleagues at La Voix du Nord.
The teenager was found alive yesterday morning in the hard-to-reach attic of this man’s home. Investigators do not know whether she was being held there against her will. On Thursday morning, Caly underwent psychological and gynaecological examinations. The investigation is ongoing.
