According to a report from our colleagues at the Progress, it was the victim’s 65-year-old husband who alerted relatives on Tuesday. His wife, aged 63, was lying in the courtyard of the farm – a dilapidated former farmstead, situated somewhat on the outskirts of the commune of Beaupont, in the Bresse region.
At the scene, the couple – who were well known in the village – were living amongst more than thirty dogs, in extremely precarious conditions.
An initial forensic examination has revealed bite marks on various parts of the deceased’s body. A gendarmerie investigation has been launched into the causes of death, at the request of the public prosecutor’s office.
