Members of the High-Mountain Gendarmerie Platoon (PGHM) were called out on Wednesday to Jujols, in the Pyrénées-Orientales, to rescue one of their colleagues from the Civil Protection service.
The soldier, who is a member of the Nogent-le-Rotrou Civil Protection Training and Response Unit (UIISC 1), sustained a leg injury whilst taking part in a controlled burn exercise.
According to our information, he was airlifted by the Civil Protection helicopter, the Dragon 66, to Perpignan General Hospital.
