A fire broke out on Thursday morning at around 7 am in a block of flats in Aulnay-sous-Bois, in Seine-Saint-Denis. At least one person was killed in the fire and two firefighters were seriously injured.
With burns covering more than 60 per cent of his body, one of them is in a life-threatening condition. They were airlifted by helicopter and rushed to hospital.
The fire broke out on the second floor of this 14-storey building. The blaze, which was extremely intense, mobilised 150 firefighters and 50 fire engines, which carried out several rescues. The fire was brought under control at around 8 am.
