A 32-year-old police officer took his own life in the Loir-et-Cher (41) on Saturday around midday, according to our colleagues at L'Essor.
According to reports, the soldier took his own life with his service weapon in his office at the Selles-sur-Cher brigade headquarters (Romorantin company). He was found by his colleagues.
The circumstances surrounding the tragedy are the subject of an investigation being carried out by the Blois Criminal Investigation Unit. The year 2018 saw 33 suicides among gendarmes.
