It was in the early hours of last Monday morning, shortly before 2 am, that the police in Chambéry, in Savoie, arrested a 22-year-old firefighter.
He was spotted driving alone in a lorry with its flashing lights on. "He took the vehicle whilst he was off duty; he seemed rather disoriented," says one of the police officers.
Taken into police custody
It was his fellow firefighters who recovered the lorry. The young firefighter has been taken into police custody. The management of SDIS 73 declined to comment.
