A fire engine belonging to the SDIS 34 fire service, en route to an incident to "explosion followed by a fire" in Montpellier, collided with another vehicle on the road on Saturday evening.
A rescue operation was required to free the driver from the vehicle. She has suffered a fracture to her forearm. Three firefighters sustained minor injuries in the collision. One of them lost consciousness.
The lorry had set off from the fire station in Pignan, a town to the west of Montpellier. Inspector-General Éric Florès, director of SDIS 34, immediately went to the scene. No further details have been released regarding the circumstances of the accident.
