INFO LE PARISIEN. At least three firefighters from the Plaisance fire station in Paris (14th arrondissement) are in police custody this Saturday evening, following the launch of an investigation by the Paris Public Prosecutor’s Office into a gang rape. At least one complaint has been lodged by a woman of German nationality.
According to our information, the three firefighters were off duty at the time of the incident. They allowed at least three women – the German woman and two friends, who were also foreign nationals – to enter the barracks in the south of the capital at around 4 am during a boozy night out.
The firefighters should be suspended
Speaking to *Le Parisien*, Lieutenant-Colonel Gabriel Plus, spokesperson for the Paris Fire Brigade, told us that, following their police custody, the firefighters are likely to be suspended “to facilitate the internal investigation, which is already underway”. Depending on the findings of the interviews, disciplinary action may be taken.
“If the allegations of rape are proven to be true, we obviously distance ourselves from such actions. To be perfectly clear, this behaviour runs counter to the values of the fire service. These would, first and foremost, be individual offences.”
