A parcel bomb exploded outside a bakery on Rue Victor-Hugo, a pedestrianised street in the centre of Lyon’s 2nd arrondissement, at around 5.30 pm.
Thirteen people were injured in the explosion, including a child.
According to CCTV footage, the suspect, who is in his thirties, left the suitcase that exploded outside the bakery; he was travelling by bicycle and was wearing a face mask, dark glasses, a black jacket and light-coloured Bermuda shorts.
The National Police have issued an appeal for witnesses to help track down the perpetrator:

The Counter-Terrorism Unit is in charge of the investigation.
Christophe Castaner, the Minister of the Interior, and Rémy Heitz, the Paris Public Prosecutor, arrived at the scene at around 10 pm.
