A fire broke out at midday on Sunday at the industrial site in the Vert Galant commercial and industrial zone in St Ouen l'Aumône (95).
The fire is believed to have then spread to ‘Cogetrad Industries’, a facility for the management and treatment of hazardous industrial waste.
The plume of smoke could be seen from several kilometres away.
51 police officers and 107 firefighters from Val d'Oise (95), backed up by their colleagues from Yvelines (78) and Oise (60), are currently on duty.
They deployed 10 "large hoses" to contain the fire.
According to the prefecture, five police officers and one firefighter sustained minor injuries.
