According to a report in *Ouest-France*, as reported by the website News17, firefighters from SDIS 14 were called to the home of a woman who was threatening to jump off a building. Their intervention on Sunday morning proved decisive.
They entered the flat and saw the young woman hanging in mid-air, about twenty metres above the ground. She was clinging to a guttering with both hands.
« At that moment, the EPA’s equipment officer approached the victim, who then let go with one hand in an attempt to take his own life. In a reflex action, the firefighter firmly grasped the victim’s hand, preventing him from falling into the void and catching him at the very last moment. ", reports the Calvados Departmental Fire and Rescue Service (SDIS 14) to Ouest-France. The young woman was taken to Caen University Hospital.
