An armed man was holed up on Sunday afternoon on the rooftops of Lunas, a village in the Hérault department, near Lodève, 30 minutes west of Montpellier.
Emergency services – including the fire brigade and the police – held lengthy discussions with the man, who eventually decided to cooperate and agreed to receive medical treatment. He was admitted to hospital.
