A serious road accident occurred late on Thursday afternoon on the A9 motorway near the Nîmes Ouest junction (Gard), in the Montpellier–Nîmes direction.
According to initial reports from the emergency services at the scene, four people have died. The cause of the accident is as yet unknown. Three lorries and one car are believed to have been involved in this violent collision.
According to the SDIS 34 fire service, several vehicles have been sent as reinforcements from the Gard department.
