A 45-year-old criminal investigation officer assigned to the Haute-Garonne departmental security unit at Toulouse Central Police Station took his own life on Thursday evening at his home. His body was discovered by firefighters from SDIS 31. According to our colleagues atNews17, the latter committed suicide by hanging.
According to the same source, the police officer, named Sébastien, had just been severely punished by the disciplinary committee. He had in fact been given a 24-month suspension without pay. He is the 35th police officer to have taken his own life since 1 January this year.
