According to local press reports, two bodies were discovered on Sunday morning in the cellar of a house in Conat-Betllans, a town situated near Prades, 30 minutes west of Perpignan (Pyrénées-Orientales).
It was their relatives, worried at not having heard from them, who alerted the emergency services. Upon entering the house, it was the fire brigade who made the gruesome discovery.
