According to our colleagues at Ouest-France, a fire broke out last night at a farm, which also includes a residential property, in Le Vaurichard, in the commune of Iffendic (Ille-et-Vilaine).
According to the same source, whilst the fire was being extinguished, a floor collapsed, causing minor injuries to a firefighter. He was taken to Pontchaillou University Hospital in Rennes. None of the residents were injured. The mayor of Iffendic, who was at the scene, stated that there would be ‘a priori’ 'no rehousing required'.
In total, there were 38 firefighters from Iffendic, Monfort-sur-Meu, Montauban-de-Bretagne and Saint Meen, as well as firefighters from the departmental fire service based in Irodouër and L’Hermitage.
Even though the fire had been put out by 4 am, the firefighters were required to remain at the scene until daybreak to carry out patrols and prevent the fire from reigniting.
