Another fire is currently burning in the town of Générac in the Gard department. Here is a series of photos sent in by our community on social media, which give an idea of the scale of the fire.
At least two new fires have broken out in the area, and a new pyrocumulus cloud appears to have been observed. This fire appears to be a new outbreak rather than a resurgence of the previous one.
The road is closed between Générac and the RD6572; the D38 on the outskirts of St Gilles towards Bellegarde; and the D14 remains closed between Générac and St Gilles
