The risk of wildfires is severe or even very severe in many municipalities around the Mediterranean this Friday. The departments of Hérault, Gard, Vaucluse, Bouches-du-Rhône and Var are particularly affected.

In these areas, the dry conditions of the soil – combined with the forecast temperatures and wind – pose a very severe risk, particularly in the southern parts of the departments.

It should be noted that the neighbouring departments – notably Lozère, Drôme and Aude – are also facing a moderate or even severe risk, depending on the location.

A risk exacerbated by the weather conditions

Unfortunately, the weather forecast for the next few days does not bode well as far as the risk of fires is concerned.

According to the authorities by Agate Météo, Temperatures are set to rise once again. This weekend, temperatures will reach between 35°C and 38°C in the Languedoc and Provence, with a moderate wind.

Please be extremely vigilant and follow the authorities’ instructions to the letter. If a fire breaks out, dial 18 or 112 immediately, trying to pinpoint its location as accurately as possible.
