A wildfire has been reported in a wooded area in the municipality of Béziers. Around twenty firefighters are tackling the blaze, along with the SDIS 34 departmental unit, which has deployed three Air Tractors.
Update 8.00 pm: The fire is currently being smothered. The smothering operations will take a long time to prevent the fire from reigniting.
Update 7.21 pm: The fire has been brought under control; 200 firefighters are at the scene. Two houses and one shop have been completely burnt down and are in danger of collapsing.
Update 5.50 pm: A house is currently on fire.

Update 5.10 pm: Driven by the wind, the fire has spread into the centre of Béziers, reaching a wooded area near the Boulevard d’Angleterre. Numerous resources have been deployed to tackle the fire and protect neighbouring homes in the Faubourg district.

Update 4.40 pm: The fire is in a field of stubble in the Faubourg district of Béziers. Around forty firefighters are on the scene, along with aircraft from the SDIS 34 departmental unit. According to Métropolitain, a shed is reported to have been destroyed by the fire and several explosions were reportedly heard.
